2003 – 2020 Polymer Issues
The first two digits of the serial number represent the last two digits of the year of printing. Initially the 50,000- and 500,000-đong notes were printed by Note Printing Australia in Melbourne, but eventually all of the polymer notes were printed by the National Banknote Printing Plant in Hanoi under a technology transfer and training arrangement with PolyTeQ Services.

2016 Numismatic Products
On 6 May 2016, the State Bank of Vietnam introduced this 100-đong note to commemorate the 65th anniversary of national banking in Vietnam. Not intended for circulation, individual notes were sold for VND20,000 each, or VND25,000 with a commemorative cover.
